Laiba Khalid’s Chronicles Return

Laiba Khalid’s

Chronicles return

Yes I am BACK !! Can you hear THE BANG ! ! ? ? No? Never mind….. You thought the chronicles were over ?! So did I …. But those sad faces most of you made when I’d reply to your question, ‘ When is the next episode coming up ??’ With, ‘Err never. Finale means the end !’ (The last sentence obviously nothing more than a thought) & innumerable requests (innumerable because i am just too lazy to count) compelled me to change my mind. How can I dare disappoint you all? (ok nose, you can stop growing now !)

And to save us some trouble and avoid all such awkward situations....

True story !

my blogs are just a click away now….

The rest can make all the weird faces they want….

second year Chronicles

Nearing the end….

Incredible ! Isn’t it? 6 months have passed, the course is all done with, the society events wrapped up and the nerds are all set to break their own records since the long summer vacations, our reward for bearing the scorching summer in June while the seniors had fun ( so we thought ) , has resulted into prep leaves for sendups !

The only thing that's comforting is that we are not alone this time (yayyy ) , 1st year is on the same boat too. Good luck kids ! The prof talk is for the depressors (1) (beware they are on the loose ). Lets just ‘ Party now !! Study later !!!’ (2)

  • 2nd year termed “The Political Class” by Kemcol 2011 (seriously how did they find out :/ )

This proved to be true when the ‘unknown’, apparently (now actually considered) uncool people devised unbelievably uncanny ways to seek attention but ended up alienating their own class & that too majorly on facebook (facepalm, facepalm, facepalm )

Meanwhile the dark forces of That-which-must-not-be-named
(3)  prevailed …

nuff said !

  • A successful welcome party was thrown out for 1st year.

Yes we gave them the same walima protocol & a time of their lives! For the 1st time in KE perhaps, during the official public ragging aka title giving ceremony, we passed on our titles to our juniors. (Guess the details regarding the titles & their bearers better remain a secret between the two classes)

  • Our second year performers , actors & directors rocked the KAPS Film Festival ! Farah Javed singing na na re bewitched the audience,

the 504, Muaz Bin Saeed & Aamer Sohail made their jaws drop by a mind-blowing-never-seen-before rap

& guitarists Moeed Ahmed & Bakht Yawar complemented most of the performances!

  •  2nd year team Urdu (Hannan Javed & Arfa Ahmed ) won the  KEDS interclass parliamentary debates while our English team (Shahbano & Ayesha Asim ) being the runner up. Shahbano Salman got not just the award for best position paper but also stood first in LUMUN-WIRA-FRC 2012.

That’s all for now, there’s much more headed your way, Stay Tuned! Your feedback & suggestions would be highly appreciated :)

1st Year IMPORTANT TOPICS (Anatomy)

By Farkhanda QaiserOkay finally here it is. The all-important guide for the 1st year students. I’ve compiled all the prof and sendup questions of last year as well as the remnants of class tests that I had.But before you go on to read them, keep in mind the following very tested tidbits:For profs, NEVER leave any topic untouched and unread. Go through all topics so that in viva, you have atleast some idea about what the examiner is asking.NEVER lose your sendup question paper because there are high chances that some of the questions will be repeated in profs as you can see in the following example of anatomy question paper and same goes for the MCQs. Most of them are repeated. So here’s what we had done, in our facebook class group, we had made a discussion topic, and everyone told the MCQs of sendups and discussed them. Well, you may think us nerds or whatever but trust me that discussion proved very fruitful for all those who participated in it.I think enough has bin said about orga…

USMLE Step 1 Experience by Ayaz Mehmood (Score : 99/266)
Salam everyone, let me start in the name of Allah who’s the greatest benefactor of all mankind. I am going to write a detailed composition regarding preparation for USMLE Step 1. I am a final year student at King Edward Medical University and I took my exam on June 10th. Final year is the year before internship/ house job in Pakistan. I just got my scores: 99/266

Let me introduce some myths surrounding USMLE Step 1 which are especially prevalent within Pakistan; I am not too sure about India because I heard their students typically appear in their final years.

Myth number 1:Do not appear for USMLE Step 1 within your graduation

 Verdict: Baseless, illogical reasoning

Explanation: This is so prevalent in Pakistan it’s almost pathetic. One of the biggest concerns surrounding our students is that Step 1 is a huge risk to be taken before graduation. Let me put it in another way: Step1 would always remain a risk whenever it is taken, …
